In order to pick-up any VLF electro-magnetic waves in the air, I built a coil pickup of 400 turns with a 220 ohm impedance. Directly coupled to a balanced XLR connector. The 20 cm diameter coil is set on a fibreglass frame, and hold by a wood carved handle (Osmanthus). This pickup has been produced in small series for the Swiss performer Robert Torche.
